For those of you who know Emily and Mariah, their story is as romantic as they come. In two right swipes, a love story started. It was 2019, a world where taking a deep breath of fresh air didn’t run you the risk of catching COVID-19. Two ladies, living their best life decided it was time to jump into the dating pool. With a few ghostings here, and an awkward conversation there, the two were ultimately living the typical Tinder experience. But gold struck, in late August 2019, Emily received a message from a “Mariah D”. Game over.
Now, we all hear the story of the COVID babies. Millions popping out left and right. A beautiful thing to come out of a scary time. However, nobody talks about the “still in the beginning but going strong” COVID relationships. Emily and Mariah were dating just a few months when the world shut down. Boy oh boy do you get to know a person when the world locks you inside. Emily learned Mariah’s love for football was not just for Sunday’s, yet an entire year of conversation. “The Colt’s traded JJ something…” “The Vikings have it in them to go big, they just need to hit a home run” (these are the words Emily assumed she said, it’s still unclear). Mariah, in return, learned Emily is perfect and is never wrong. Oh, and that the Kardashians rock, second only to Ray Charles.
Fast forward, three years. Like all relationships, there were ups and downs and all arounds, but Emily knew she found the one. In fact, she claims she knew Mariah was it on their second date. Never the less, it was time to buy a ring. On April 29th, 2023, Emily popped the question in front of all their close family and friends. Mariah said “Yes”. No doubt, the best day of their lives.
Fast forward again, they put their wedding on hold. Emily and Mariah bought a house that needed WORK. But they wanted to focus on a place to come home to after they were married. In that year, they learned more about each other. They can work hard together, love each other stronger, and solidified that they can really do anything if they have one another. Except pick paint colors. They still use boxing gloves for that.
Now that Mariah has her garden and Emily has a few good spots to enjoy her cigars, they decided it was time.
That leads us to here and now. The wedding planning has begun, the date is booked, and THEY ARE GETTING MARRIED IN MEXICO! Dreams are coming true.
*Cough* *Cough* Okay, we will stop speaking in third person from this point forward.
We are so happy and excited to share our special day with all of you. Each person invited has played an integral part in our lives, whether it was before we met each other or after. We are beyond blessed to have every single one of you. We understand, with a destination wedding not everyone can make it. Regardless, we both want all of you to know how much we love and cherish you. We hope you can celebrate with us in sunny Mexico!
Xoxo,
The future Mrs. and Mrs. Dahling
Oh wait, what was that? Did they say “Dahling”? Yes, we sure did. What you see there is going to be our new last name. After a few tussles of “let’s keep Dahl, it’s a classic name” and a “you would be BLESSED to be a Klingner” (okay do NOT say that if you want to win a point). We finally came to an idea that we both loved, “let’s combine our last names”. So Dahling was born.
*SPECIAL NOTE TO ALL GUESTS*
While we absolutely love and adore your kids, we have opted to make this occasion, kid free. We want our little people in our lives to know although you are not invited to this trip, we love you always!
